PROGRAMME SCOPE

The biggest ever technological advancement this century has witnessed is making machines to think and act like human, engaging the science of Artificial Intelligence, powered by Data. AI driven by Data will be dominant in every aspect of human life with the scope for its application becoming limitless. Autonomous Vehicles, Virtual Assistants (Alexa, Siri), Domestic Assistants (maid robots), are some of the existing examples, while many are being developed every single day. The field of AI & DS is emerging as the most promising one for young engineers who have a flair for data and visualization.

LEARNING SCOPE

Students studying this programme will be able to design, develop and apply AI and DS based solutions to real world business challenges. The students will know to develop out insights with intellectual curiosity, by learning various technologies including Deep learning, Computer Vision, Data Science, Predictive Analytics, AR/VR, Natural Language Processing and Robotics, Software Technologies, OOPs and Database Management Systems.

Dr. Lakshmanan. M is a highly accomplished academician and researcher with over 23 years of teaching experience and 17 years of research expertise. He holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University, an M.E. in Communication Systems from Anna University, and a Ph.D. from VIT University. Currently, he serves as Professor and Dean IQAC at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. Dr. Lakshmanan is a NAAC Assessor in the peer team visit. He is a recognized expert in NBA, NAAC & ABET Accreditation, and NIRF & QS Ranking. He has mentored numerous professional institutions and universities across the nation to achieve the highest grades and ranks in accreditation and rankings respectively. With a Senior Member status in IEEE and UACEE, and fellow in IETE and IEI, he also holds Life Memberships in ISTE, ACM, IACSIT, and IAENG. Dr. Lakshmanan is an Executive Committee Member of IETE Noida Section since July 2022. His extensive research contributions include over 100 papers published in reputed SCI/SCIE/ESCI and Scopus indexed journals, along with 4 patents published in India and 2 patents granted in Australia. He is a sought-after speaker, having delivered more than 50 keynote talks and invited lectures in various FDPs, workshops, and seminars. Actively involved as a reviewer for SCI/SCIE and Scopus indexed journals, he has reviewed more than 200 papers. Dr. Lakshmanan has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Best Administrator Award and Best Researcher Award for 2024 awarded by The Innovative and Advanced Multidisciplinary Research Foundation (IAMRF) in collaboration with the Prerna Education Research Society, Award of Excellence in Research for 2022-23 in National Faculty Award, Researcher of the Year Award (Engineering, Male) for 2021 in 3rd International Business & Academic Excellence Awards, Best Researcher Award for 2021 in International Excellence Award, and the Award of Emerging Leader for 2018 in Higher Education Leadership Meet – 2018 (HELA 2018). Additionally, he has been honored with the Active Researcher award five times from VIT University. His current research interests span Wireless Communication and Networks, Security Algorithms, Device to Device Communications, Digital Communication, Information Theory and Coding, Signal and Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning.

Dr. L. Raja is a senior academician and researcher currently serving as Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, an M.E. in Applied Electronics from Kongu Engineering College, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology. He has established a strong research profile with high-quality scholarly output, comprising 16 SCI-indexed and Scopus-indexed international journal publications, 10 Scopus-indexed international conference publications (IEEE/AIP), and 4 Scopus-indexed international book chapters. He has made significant contributions to applied research and innovation, with 11 published Indian patents. He has successfully organized and completed three consecutive SERB and ISRO sponsored seminars worth ₹3 lakhs. In recognition of his sustained learning and academic engagement, he has received multiple national recognitions such as NPTEL Discipline Star, NPTEL Believer, NPTEL Domain Scholar, and NPTEL Motivated Learner awards across different academic years. A strong advocate of continuous professional development, he has consistently secured Elite, Elite-Silver, and Elite-Gold grades and Top-5% ranks in NPTEL proctored examinations. Dr. K. Mohaideen Abdul Kadhar earned his B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharath Institute of Science and Technology, Tamilnadu, India, in 2005, followed by an M. Tech in Control and Instrumentation from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, in 2009. He completed his PhD at Thiagarajar College of Engineering from 2011 to 2015. Dr. Kadhar received both junior and senior research fellowships under the Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) Scheme from the University Grants Commission (UGC), Delhi. Dr.Kadhar has authored more than 15 papers in high-impact factor journals and has published two books focusing on evolutionary optimization, robust controller design, and industrial vision systems. He has delivered numerous guest lectures on the application of Evolutionary Algorithms for various engineering applications and has chaired sessions at national and international conferences. Dr. Kadhar serves as a reviewer and guest editor for esteemed international journals including IEEE, IEEE Access, Applied Soft Computing, Soft Computing, and Artificial Intelligence Review journals. He has offered consultancy work for various industries, such as Sakthi Auto Components, Bi-metal Bearings, Syrma Technologies, and mokSa.ai, developing machine vision systems to meet their specific requirements. He has filed and published more than 5 patents, with one patent granted by the Indian Patent Office. His research interests include the development of new evolutionary algorithms, engineering optimization, multi-objective optimization, robust controller design, signal processing, deep learning , computer vision,data analytics, and wireless sensor networks.

She has also secured competitive grants, including an AICTE Grant under the GOC Scheme and a DST IEDC grant for her work on intelligent farming, demonstrating her commitment to impactful and socially relevant innovation. Her scholarly portfolio includes various publications in peer-reviewed, IEEE, and Scopus-indexed journals. and she holds three patents in the areas of healthcare monitoring, LPG leakage detection, and voice recognition systems. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained his Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. He has 9 years of teaching experience. He also worked as a Systems Engineer at TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), Chennai, for 1.2 years. Dr. G. Sathish Kumar’s research interests encompass Data Mining, Machine Learning, Soft Computing, Optimization Techniques and Cloud Computing. She has 17.8 years of teaching experience in higher education. She has published around 19 research papers, including 2 SCI-indexed publications, 17 Scopus-indexed international journals, 2 book chapters, 4 patent publications, and 1 granted patent in the field of malware detection. Dr. M. Nivaashini holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2022. Her bachelor’s degree with a top grade in computer science and engineering from Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology, Pollachi, and her master’s degree with a gold medal in Biometrics & Cyber Security from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, both affiliated with Anna University, were awarded in 2017 and 2015 Teaching and research have taken 2.5 and 4.5 years, respectively. AI, IoT, Big Data Analytics, and Cyber Security are her research interests. She has 28 publications, including 3 book chapters, 16 international journals, 6 international conferences, and 3 national conferences. Springer, Wiley, Inderscience, Taylor & Francis, and Springer are among her publishers. Editing Wiley and Elsevier books was her job. She has published four research papers in reputed SCI journals, including Elsevier and Springer, along with eight papers in Scopus-indexed journals and conference proceedings.
