Dr. Suresh Kumar has over two decades of experience in academia and holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University Chennai, focusing on optimization, adaptive machining, and precision engineering. He has secured substantial research funding, including a DST-FIST grant of INR 59 lakhs for the academic year 2022-23, and additional grants from CSIR and SERB, totalling over INR 500,000. His consultancy projects with industry leaders such as Bill Forge India Pvt Ltd, Ganga Hospital, and SAROS have amounted to over INR 729,991, highlighting his expertise in lean management, HVAC, and rehabilitation equipment development.
Dr. Suresh has provided extensive industry training and consultancy services, conducting specialized sessions on hydraulics, mechanical gauges, and tolerance stack-up analysis. His innovative spirit is showcased through multiple patents, including designs for a Smart Security and Lighting System, PV-based Isolated Power Supply, and AI-Based Fire Fighting Robot. He has also led teams to develop products like a Human Respiratory Model for NIT Trichy, a Smart Thermal Sanitizer, e-bike, and collaborative projects with IIITDM Chennai. In addition to publishing over 15 research articles, authoring books and patents. Dr. Suresh has received numerous awards, such as the Best Department Researcher Award (2022-23) and the Best Course Plan Delivery Award (2017-18).
